I getting ready to install one of these puppies and there doesn't seem to be room for the little thumb wheels that go on the edge of the soundhole as my soundhole braces are close to the edge of the hole .2ish. How do other deal this, shave the brace? Thanks |

What shape are your soundhole braces? I run in to this a lot with the Baggs Element, Ibeam and Imix, but it is usually on guitars with .090" flat soundhole braces. On these I will usually add a spruce patch from the brace to the soundhole to level it out, and although it drops the control a little deeper in the soundhole it is usually fine. It's been a while since I installed a b-band, but the Baggs volume wheel is just a 20k thumbwheel pot on a circuit board. I have occasionally trimmed an corner of the circuit board to work around braces. If you trim you have to be able to see the printing on the board to make sure you don't break any paths, or you'll end up having to run jumpers. |

Thanks David, The sound hole braces are peaked in the middle to 3/8 tall. I suppose I can shave one down and add a mounting block. This would have been better had I known what pick up system prior to bracing the top. I could of made a cool brace with a pass through slot in it or something. Oh well. |
